Antonio Rudiger has backed Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi to break into the first team and has urged the club to let the 18 year old take his time and mature along the way.

That’s what he can become, yes. But he is 18 years old. And one should let him be 18. And do not pretend that he is 27 and already experienced everything.”

Hudson-Odoi experienced a turbulent January as it was evident he was itching to leave the Blues for a move to Bayern Munich who made it no secret that they wanted the English youngster.

However, Chelsea held firm to their ground and turned down two offers from the German club before telling them that Hudson-Odoi is not for sale. Hudson-Odoi has been struggling to get into the first team due to the presence of the likes of Hazard, Willian and Pedro.

However, Sarri believes that Hudson-Odoi should not be so hasty and also should respect the fact that he owes the club big time for developing him into what he has become today.

Hudson-Odoi has another year and a half left on his contract and hence it will make for an interesting summer to see if Chelsea can keep their prized asset or are forced to let him go.
