Tiemoue Bakayoko is set to return to Chelsea in the summer with AC Milan terminating his loan deal
Tiemoue Bakayoko, a Chelsea loanee, might return to Stamford Bridge in the summer as AC Milan seeks to avoid payments owed to the Blues based on the amount of games the midfielder makes this season.
Bakayoko joined Chelsea in 2017 after excelling at AS Monaco, but his Chelsea career has been wrecked by his inability to make an impression in the Premier League and being continuously loaned out after failing to persuade the management of his potential.
His most recent loan deal is also slated to expire in the summer, according to Schira, who claims that Milan have ceased playing the Frenchman in order to avoid paying the Stamford Bridge team a fee of €15 million, which will be triggered dependent on performance.
This clause is believed to be activated if the midfielder makes fifteen appearances and plays 45 minutes or more. However, it will not be in effect until next season. In any case, it appears that his stint at the San Siro has come to an end after joining the club on a long-term loan last summer.
The reason the France international is not playing for the Rossoneri is because he has fallen out of favour with boss Stefano Pioli. This contradicts the idea that Bakayoko’s absence from the club is due to an appearances clause in his contract.
With N’golo Kante, Jorginho, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek filling the midfield slots, it is doubtful that Thomas Tuchel will make room for him. Even new loan signing Saul Niguez has found it difficult to fit with the German’s game plan.
