Chelsea giving Mourinho opportunity to return at Stamford Bridge would be big

Chelsea would make a statement by turning to Mourinho amid their current struggles.

Chelsea may look for the ideal replacement for Pochettino at the end of the season. As per reports, they may recall Jose Mourinho to return to the Stamford Bridge dugout.

The Blues are struggling in the Premier League as they are looking to miss out European qualification one more time. Mourinho is understood to be open to heading back to the Premier League after leaving AS Roma.

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth admits that the Blues would make a statement by turning to Mourinho amid their current struggles. One thing is confirmed Manchester United will not battle it out for the Portuguese manager.

Mauricio Pochettino is being allowed to spend close to £400million on reinforcements following his appointment last summer. He failed to change the future of the club. The Blues fans are frustrated with the current performances of their club.

Sky Sports reporter has ruled out the possibility of Mourinho sealing a return to United under the Sir Jim Ratcliffe era. He said, “With INEOS coming in at Manchester United, I think they will probably be looking for a different kind of profile of manager. I could be wrong, but it appears that would be the case if it’s not going to be Erik ten Hag in the long-term.

“It would be a big one if Jose Mourinho were to go back to Chelsea for a third stint.”
