Cesar Azpilicueta has wished Jose Mourinho good luck in his new job at Tottenham Hotspur.

Mourinho was Chelsea boss twice, once in the early 2000s and then again from 2013 to 2016. In his second spell, it was Jose who had uncovered the best of Azpilicueta.

In a homage to his old boss, Cesar said he wished Jose good luck at North London club Tottenham Hotspur.

“I can talk only when Jose was here at Chelsea with us,” Azpilicueta told Sky Sports News.

“We won trophies, and now football moves on. I wish him all the best even though he goes to a rival. I have good memories with him and I have played many times under him and against him.

“Obviously when we play against each other we both want to win for our teams – but this is football. I wish him well.”

Chelsea technical director Petr Cech also had words of great praise for the Portuguese.

“He’s a great manager and obviously it’s great for the Premier League to welcome back one of the most successful managers of the past 15 years, so obviously we wish him well,” he said.

Chelsea take on Spurs in a month’s time from now.
