Real Madrid could make a shock summer move for Chelsea star N’Golo Kante amid the ongoing uncertainty at Stamford Bridge

The Premier League titans are presently functioning under financial sanctions imposed by the UK government on club owner Roman Abramovich.

Chelsea is restricted from signing new players during the transfer window, while contract extensions and renewals for current players are also prohibited.

The Blues are expected to lose players on free transfers this summer, with Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta being linked with departures owing to contract expirations.

According to sources, Kante’s status in West London is changing, with the Frenchman’s contract expiring in 2023.

Kante has previously declared his intention to remain at Chelsea, but the club’s current circumstances might change that, with a possible £50 million sale on the table if the club is forced to sell the 31-year-old.

N’Golo Kante, a Chelsea midfielder, is among Real Madrid’s summer transfer targets.

The Frenchman has been in and out of the Blues lineup this season, owing primarily to injury concerns. While Real would like to sign Frenchman Aurelien Tchouameni, if they are unable to sign the 22-year-old, they may turn to countryman Kante on a low-cost contract.

Kante is still highly regarded at Chelsea, but his contract ends in two summers, and given his injury history, the club may want to offload him this summer.
