Marcus Bettinelli has extended his Chelsea contract until the summer of 2026.
The Blues have announced a contract for the club’s third-choice goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli.
The 30-year-old has served as a backup option to Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy since his arrival from Fulham in 2021.
His original deal was due to expire this summer but has now committed his future to the West London club.
The Italian keeper has made only senior appearances for Chelsea and has been a regular on the bench.
Bettinelli told Chelsea’s official website: “It is a privilege to be at a club like Chelsea, one of the biggest clubs in the world, and a couple of years ago when I signed I was delighted to be here, delighted to sign.
“To be here now and see the club going through this transition and seeing what we are developing, it is amazing to be a part of and I am buzzing to be here for an extra couple of years.”
There have been concerns over the future of both Arrizabalaga and Mendy as the duo could be sold during the summer window with the potential arrive of a new number one.
