Chelsea thrashed Tottenham in the Premier League and the hero of the game was young striker Nicolas Jackson who scored a hattrick. He has labelled Chelsea the “biggest club in England” after a 4-1 win on Monday.

Nicolas Jackson netted the first hat trick of Chelsea this season. The Blues overcame London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Monday night.

The Senegalese striker faced backlash for his poor performance as he only scored two goals in his first nine Premier League appearances this season.

While talking to Sky Sports after the match, Jackson said: “I am very happy and it has been a difficult time for everybody in the team. We are coming back really slowly and happy to have scored three goals.

“[My start at Chelsea] has been very difficult, but life is like this. It’s my first hat-trick, so I am happy to have done it with the biggest club in England and everywhere.

“I need to always improve and work harder,” Jackson added. “We continue working. Tottenham have an amazing stadium and amazing fans, so we needed to fight and win the game.

“It was really difficult (when Tottenham went down to nine men) as they continued to maintain their line. We have quality players to give us the ball and we won. We were dreaming about winning the big games and the confidence within the team is coming really slowly.”

Chelsea are next in action on Sunday afternoon when they face reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.
