Maurizio Sarri Shockingly Wants To Reunite With Chelsea Outcast Kepa

Maurizio Sarri shockingly wants to reunite with Kepa Arrizabalaga at Chelsea.

According to the Daily Star, the Blues number two is attracting interest from Italy.

Chelsea signed the goalkeeper from Athletic Bilbao for £71.2m and it very quickly proved to be a bad piece of business. Kepa was spectacularly even signed to a seven-year contract instead of an usual five or lesser. That means, Chelsea will hardly find any buyers who will be able to match their valuation of the player.

Their best hope would be to either send him out on loan or to move him on for a fraction of the sum they originally paid for him. Good news is Kepa is still young and has people who have not completely lost faith in him.

It is a bit of a surprise that among those people it is Maurizio Sarri. Kepa publicly disobeyed Sarri’s instructions in the 2018 EFL Cup final defeat to Manchester City. Sarri had sent for Kepa to be replaced but the goalkeeper refused to come off.

Chelsea’s Thomas Tuchel did give Kepa a couple of opportunities to prove himself but Ferland Mendy remains the starting custodian. The Blues have a good opportunity to offload Kepa to Lazio.
