Youngster Palmer’s stellar performance earns Pochettino’s praise after Chelsea win over Burnley
Chelsea produced a dominant performance in a surprising win over Burnley this past Saturday, earning their third consecutive win under their new head coach and suggesting that there is a turn in their destiny. Mauricio Pochettino, the Blues’ manager, took a moment to praise young prospect Cole Palmer’s outstanding performance on Saturday.
Palmer, a surprise deadline-day arrival from Manchester City, developed as a key player in Chelsea’s attack, stunning the fans with his skill and confidence on the pitch. The young England Under-21 international was crucial in numerous of Chelsea’s spectacular counter-attacks against Burnley. Additionally, Palmer calmly stepped up to take a penalty, which put his team up shortly after halftime.
He is a very talented player and he has the quality and he surprised me when I arrived because,’ stated Pochettino.
‘It was the day before the transfer window closed. the way the he reads the situations and what the team needs in every situation, he can be the player who can link with his team-mates.
‘He is still very very young but with great personality and he has the talent and the quality which we saw today.’
Pochettino expressed his delight at the young sensation, appreciating Palmer’s developing contributions to the team. The manager earlier admitted to having little influence over Palmer’s signing but lauded the young star for his consistent performance as well as his important role in the team’s recent success.
