Raheem Sterling was left out of England squad for the upcoming EURO qualifiers.

The England international scored his third goal of the season as Chelsea outperformed Burnley 4-1 at Turf Moor last night.

This will be Chelsea’s first back-to-back league wins since March and Sterling played a huge role in helping lift the mood of the squad.

Sterling has been left out of next week’s international games and has not played for his country since the World Cup.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino tells the winger that he needs to show Southgate that he deserved a spot in the Three Lions squad.

“He did well, he was involved in all the goals and I’m so happy for him and for the team,” Pochettino said. “The team was good, the performance was fantastic, they deserve all the credit.

“I’m so happy for them to go into the international break with a different feeling to the last months.”

“He knows he needs to perform to show the manager of the national team that he was wrong with his decision.

“It’s about showing you deserve it and with performances and goals is the only way to show that.”
