In response to fears from Blues supporters that he would quit Chelsea at the end of the season, Mason Mount provided an update on the surgery he recently underwent

Due to their individual ailments, Frank Lampard said yesterday that both Reece James and Mount will not participate in Chelsea’s season going forward. According to the Daily Mail, Mount’s injury is an abdominal one.

Assuring followers that he will return in a few weeks, Mount updated his Instagram account this afternoon to disclose the results of his surgery.

Although he has stated that he wants to be involved in the build-up to his Chelsea team’s season, there are still ongoing discussions about his plans after this one at Stamford Bridge.

The 24-year-old’s contract at SW6 is set to expire in 2024, and the sides have not yet reached an agreement on a renewal. If Chelsea does decide to sell, teams like Liverpool and Manchester City may be interested.

The good news is that Mount’s surgery was successful and he has expressed a desire to resume playing before the season ends, so there is still hope that he will commit his long-term future to the team.
