Marc Cucurella has been linked with an exit this January.
The Spaniard could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge as a January exit was being discussed but the situation has changed for the defender.
He had a difficult start to the new season as he failed to make an appearance in any of Chelsea’s first six Premier League games.
The 25-year-old defender is deployed in the right-back position as Reece James is out injured and Malo Gusto has been suspended.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino has been impressed with the player’s professionalism and commitment according to transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano.
“Marc Cucurella has been praised by Mauricio Pochettino after his improved form for Chelsea, so what could this mean for his future?” Romano wrote.
“The feeling was that Cucurella could be one who would be allowed to leave Chelsea in January if he continued to find himself out of the team. He’s now playing and is doing really well, even against Bukayo Saka in the game against Arsenal at the weekend, so it will be interesting to see if Pochettino now decides to keep faith in the player.
“He’s not complaining, just fighting for his place and now doing great. Pochettino and his staff are very happy with his mentality.”
