Manchester City has agreed £30m deal to sign Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic.
The 29-year-old is set to join Premier League rivals Manchester City for an initial fee of £25m with £5m as add-ons.
Chelsea were demanding £35m for the Croatian midfielder but reduced their demands to reach an agreement before June 30.
Kovacic will end his five-year spell with the Blues since joining from Real Madrid in the summer of 2018.
He will undergo a medical before joining Pep Guardiola’s squad ahead of City’s pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea.
City have moved quick to sign the Chelsea midfielder as Ilkay Gundogan will join Barcelona when his contract ends on June 30.
He has won four major trophies with the Blues including his second Champions League in 2021 and has also made 221 appearances for the club.
His club teammate N’Golo Kante has also agreed to join Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia on a free transfer.
