Liverpool plotting to make a move for 20-year-old Levi Colwill.

The Reds are in the market for new central defenders and have identified Chelsea youngster Levi Colwill as their next big signing this January.

The 20-year-old defender has maintained a consistent spot under Mauricio Pochettino and has helped the team keep several clean sheets this season.

After his meteoric rise with Brighton on loan last year, the defender was expected to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer but he decided to extend his contract with his boyhood club until the summer of 2029.

Colwill also helped England U-21s secure the European Championships as the Three Lions did not concede a goal in the 2022/23 campaign.

Liverpool are ready to test Chelsea’s resolve with a bid for the young defender this January.

Chelsea might reconsider a sole to adhere to the FFP regulations as they have to balance their books following their heavy spending over the last three transfer windows.

Klopp would like to bring Levi Colwill to eventually replace ageing duo Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip.

The English defender recently signed a new contract with Chelsea and would demand a steep price for the brightest prospects in world football.
