Hakim Ziyech Wants Out Of Chelsea Next Summer

Hakim Ziyech’s Chelsea career might end on a short note.

Just over a few months into his Stamford Bridge, he is already getting frustrated.

A change in managerial reign has left him in a reduced role. Thomas Tuchel has dropped him in the pecking order.

The Moroccan international started off well at Stamford Bridge. Ziyech has 2 goals and 4 assists in 1070 minutes for Chelsea. That is not exactly impressive compared to his 8 goals and 21 assists in 2686 minutes for Ajax last season.

Chelsea have looked more direct in attack than in recent months under Frank Lampard. Tuchel has switched the team’s tactics and formation, naming a few surprise starters in his first game.

With his playing time no longer guaranteed, Ziyech will be aiming to improve his situation. Whether that will be leaving camp completely or fighting for his chances in West London, remains to be seen. His contract is set to run until June 2025 and it is unlikely that Chelsea will give up on him this soon.

The Blues have Christian Pulisic, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ziyech as outright wingers. Currently, Hudson-Odoi is the only one performing at a top level. Otherwise, plenty of team members are looking underconfident and inefficient.
