Frank Lampard is on the lookout for a new left-back after Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri struggled to make an impression in the squad.
The Blues are willing to spend big this summer to close the gap on Liverpool and Manchester City.
According to reports, the Chelsea boss is ‘in love’ with Ben Chilwell and wishes to bring him to Stamford Bridge this transfer window.
Frank Lampard is aware of the defensive frailties in his squad and will go all-in this summer window to revamp the squad.
Leicester City put a price tag of £80million on Ben Chilwell and now Chelsea are looking for other options if this deal doesn’t go through.
“Left-back, they will go for a left-back because Frank Lampard is in love with Chilwell,” Romano told the Beautiful Game podcast.
“He wants him but also Leicester are in love with Chilwell because he is a fantastic player.
“At the moment there is no agreement but it will be difficult to get Chilwell this summer.
“Tagliafico is also an option for sure, they are also considering Sergio Reguillon.
“They are considering him in the list but they have to sell. They have Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri, he will come back to Italy this season.
“They’re going to sell Emerson Palmieri and buy a left-back. Reguillon is not an option but they may go for him if they can’t sign Chilwell.”
