Frank Lampard Dismisses Chelsea Rumours

Frank Lampard believes Chelsea youngster Ethan Ampadu will be staying at the Stamford Bridge despite his repeated attempts to bring him to Derby County.

Lampard was given the charge at the Pride Park stadium at the start of the season and has done a commendable job so far keeping the club in the hunt for a promotional push.

The Chelsea legend earlier brought in Mason Mount from his former club on loan and had been hoping to strengthen his side by roping in the teenager.

Ampadu is regarded as one of the greatest finds of the English football and can be deployed in the defence and in the defensive midfield too.

Lampard said, “We have asked, but I don’t think he’s leaving Chelsea.

“He can play in a few positions, that’s why he would be so valuable to anybody and why he’s staying at Chelsea.

“People thought we did a lot of business in the summer, but our actual net spend was very negligible.

“I had to bring in personnel to try to change the style and that’s not a one-window solution, that’s probably two or three-windows. This window will be quiet for us.”
