The Evening Standard’s Nizaar Kinsella just updated us on the status of Edouard Mendy’s transfer to Saudi Pro League team Al Ahli

The custodian has accepted a contract offer and a £16 million price has been agreed upon for him.

Fabrizio Romano has tweeted that the Senegal stopper has his tests tomorrow and the deal can likely be revealed very soon after. He now just needs to pass his physical.

It provides the club plenty of time to deposit the funds before the now-famous June 30th Financial Fair Play accounting deadline.

Both transfers—Hakim Ziyech to Al Nassr and Kalidou Koulibaly to Al Hilal—have already been finalised, and both players will probably follow Mendy out the door by the end of the next week. Mendy, who contested Kepa Arrizabalaga for the number one shirt for three seasons, must now be replaced.

Mendy, who last season lost his spot in Chelsea’s starting lineup to Kepa Arrizabalaga, is about to leave Stamford Bridge. The Senegal international is scheduled to have a medical exam with Al-Ahli on Monday, according to Fabrizio Romano.
