Benfica star Diego Moreira is set to join Chelsea on a free transfer this summer, according to Daily Mail. The Blues want to boost their squad ahead of new season.
The 18-year-old’s contract is up and he will have his pick of teams to join. The report also adds PSG and AC Milan were also interested in picking up the young winger, but the club have beaten them to it.
Moreira made his senior debut for Crystal Palace back in May last year, and could get further minute once they wrap up the league this time around.
Jorge Mendes is clearly building a nice relationship with Todd Boehly, and this smells very much like a move cooked up by the pair of them.
Moreira won the UEFA Youth League with Benfica a year ago. He will join a number of European talents signed by the transfer team at Chelsea in the last year.
Chelsea already signed few players in last two windows under new ownership. The club will likely to sell few of them and sign new players.
