Chelsea are expected to make an offer for midfielder Rayan Cherki.
The talented attacking midfielder is currently on the radar of Chelsea who have offloaded several midfielders from their roster this summer.
Rayan Cherki, who came through Lyon’s academy is valued at around €40 million and is under contract until June 2025.
The Lyon wonderkid had an offer from PSG earlier in January but rejected a move to the French capital.
Lyon needs to let some players go to adhere to France’s Financial Fair Play rules this summer.
Chelsea legend Frank Leboeuf is a huge admirer of the teenager and wants his club to strike a deal.
Leboeuf told ESPN: “Skill-wise, one of the best players already on earth. 20 years old, unbelievable. The guy can do everything.
“But he still has to improve and is young. When he has to get rid of the ball, it’s always half a second too early or half a second too late.
“I have no doubt that he’s going to improve.
“I think it’s a good investment, but I’m not sure he’s the kind of player Chelsea needs right now. They need experienced players. They don’t need the future. They need the present.”
