Christian Pulisic has been backed to become the best player for his country.
Chelsea saw the USA international regain his form this season and help them to a Champions League trophy.
Pulisic carried his club form to the international stage, beating Mexico in the Concaf Nations League final to earn his first title with USA.
In an interview with Goal (via Diario AS), Brad Friedel, the former Tottenham, US player said, “The United States players in their clubs, including Pulisic, are there thanks to their talent and merits of their own. As the sport grows in the United States, there will be opportunities, but today, he relies on his ability.
“Pulisic is possibly our best player. He is on the attack front and in one of the biggest clubs in the world.”
“It’s fantastic to have him,” he continued. “He’s an outstanding player. If he keeps his head down and works hard, then I don’t see many coaches not being impressed by him.”
Pulisic’s biggest task will be to lead his team through the 2022 World Cup qualifiers later this year. USA did not qualify in 2018 and aims to make it this time around.
