Chelsea star Cole Palmer issues warning to teammates following disappointing draw

Chelsea star Cole Palmer gave a strong warning to his teammates after their disappointing 2-2 draw with Burnley at Stamford Bridge.

Regardless of having a numerical lead for more than half of the meet following Lorenz Assignon’s red card, the Blues were unable to win against the relegation-threatened team.

“It’s poor, it can’t happen,” said the Chelsea forward.

“Especially when they go down to ten men. We got too comfortable. Same story, we kill ourselves every week. It’s got to improve from us as players.

“I think it’s our consistency all around the pitch, being alive and not switching off like we did today. We seriously have to find some consistency if we want to do something.”

Palmer, who has been a standout performer for Chelsea this season, scoring and helping against Burnley, said that such poor results are unacceptable. The 21-year-old midfielder has helped the team score 21 goals in 24 outings.

The draw at Burnley is another blow for Chelsea under Mauricio Pochettino, and his position at the club is under increasing scrutiny. Fans expressed their disapproval by booing the team at the last whistle.

Considering Palmer’s exceptional prowess, Chelsea remains in the bottom half of the Premier League table. The draw against Burnley is a wake-up call for the team to improve their performance if they want to save their season and climb the standings.

Palmer’s warning stresses the need of Chelsea correcting their mistakes and producing better results in the future matches in order to calm dissatisfied fans and revive their season.
