Chelsea set asking price for Romelu Lukaku ahead of the summer transfer window

Romelu Lukaku’s contract at Chelsea will expire in 2026.

Chelsea wants to off-load Romelu Lukaku this summer and they want to earn some funds through this deal. The Blues have reportedly set his asking price at €43m (£36.8m) ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Belgian striker made a record-transfer move to Chelsea in 2021 from Inter Milan. Chelsea considered him a game-changer following his solid performances in Serie A. However, it didn’t work out and he moved to Inter again on loan next season.

Lukaku had a tussle with former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel. He scored 15 goals from 44 appearances in his debut season. He later joined his former club on loan and then, joined AS Roma on loan.

The 30-year-old has impressed at Stadio Olimpico, scoring 15 goals and two assists from 26 appearances in all competitions. Roma are struggling to make into the top four of the table. Jose Mourinho has been removed from his position as manager.

As per the reports of Calciomercato, the Blues have already decided what fee it will take to successfully negotiate the sale of Lukaku in the summer. The report claims that €43m is required for Chelsea to compensate for the loss. Lukaku’s contract at Chelsea will expire in 2026.
