Chelsea initiates talks to secure French defender Jean-Clair Todibo

Todibo appears as a top option, perfectly aligning with the club’s expanding transfer plan. The potential departure of several current defenders sparked interest in Ousmane Diomande, but the excessive release clause linked to the Sporting CP star may make the chase prohibitively expensive..
Todibo, who offers both current prowess and significant upside, coincides with Chelsea’s ambition for instant impact and long-term viability. The path to gaining the Frenchman’s signature, however, is filled with difficulties, considering OGC Nice’s reluctance to part ways and the fierce rivalry from Manchester United and Tottenham.
Manchester United’s pursuit of Todibo has been helped by the recent involvement of minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe. The Red Devils are determined to outmaneuver rivals for the defender’s signature, subject to a suitable price agreement with Nice.
Tottenham, who were initially interested in Todibo, are currently shifting their focus to Radu Dragusin. With an open offer for the Genoa defender already on the table, Spurs may shift their focus away from Todibo, especially if Dragusin arrives soon.
