Mendy has also kept nine clean sheets in 15 games across all competition for Chelsea.

According to Fotomac (h/t Football.London), Chelsea are targeting Besiktas goalkeeper Ersin Destanoglu as a backup for Edouard Mendy.

The youngster has become the best keeper at Beşiktaş. The 20-year-old has kept four clean sheets this season in the nine Super Lig games. The technical mentor for young players at Chelsea, Claude Makélélé tracked down the goalkeeper.

The Chelsea player travelled to Turkey to have a chat with Besiktas coach Sergen Yalçın about Ersin Destanoglu.

Meanwhile, Mendy has been a top goalkeeper for Chelsea. He has kept nine clean sheets in 15 games across all competition. He has made Chelsea’s Premier League performance high by making some stunning saves against top strikers.

However, Blues have backup options in Kepa Arrizabalaga and Marcus Bettinelli who are serving backup options for the Senegal international. Kepa is a good option but he appeared in only one Premier League game and he was only featured due to the unavailability of Mendy.
