Jonathan Tah’s contract at Bayer Leverkusen will expire in 2025.
Chelsea are reportedly planning to make a move for Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah who could be a good player to replace Thiago Silva who is likely to leave the club next summer.
The Blues are planning to focus on improving their defence area. They have ticked few options there to fix out the balance under Pochettino.
Chelsea are currently relying on Thiago Silva, Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile and Levi Colwill in the back four. Wesley Fofana is their backup option who is currently sidelined.
Silva is 39 years old and his contract will expire at the end of the current season. He has acknowledged that he is unsure over his next move. The Brazilian may reunite with his former club Fluminense.
As per BILD journalist Christian Falk, Chelsea’s recruitment team have identified Tah as a potential replacement for Silva next summer. The 27-year-old can be regarded as one of European’s best defenders at present.
The Germany international has scored four goals from his 18 appearances this season. Tah’s contract at Bayer Leverkusen will expire in 2025.
