Chelsea appointed Joe Shields as their new ‘Co-Director of Recruitment and Talent’.
New Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has been on the lookout for a new director who can overlook transfers and the former Man City man became the clubs’ No.1 target for the role.
Shields joined Southampton in July this summer who has earned a great reputation in the recruiting department during his time at Manchester City.
He will serve the Saints until his obligations at the club are complete.
Boehly told Chelsea’s website: ‘Joe is another great addition to Chelsea, and we’re thrilled to have him on board.
