Trevor Chalobah's future remains uncertain at Stamford Bridge

Trevor Chalobah is expected to leave Chelsea in the January window.

The 24-year-old Chelsea academy graduate is currently out with a hamstring injury and won’t be available for the first-team until early October.

He was available for sale this summer but the £50million asking price was deemed too steep for any European club.

He still has five years left on his Chelsea contract and is expected to move further down the pecking order after the arrival of Axel Disasi from Monaco this summer.

Chalobah will struggle to hold a starting role after his return and would want to force a move in the winter transfer window.

He was keen on moving to Bayern Munich in the summer and to reunite with former manager Thomas Tuchel at the Allianz Arena.

Chalobah would be an attractive option for Bayern as the player can operate as a right-back as well as a central defender.

Romano wrote: “Trevoh Chalobah rejected Nottingham Forest move on Deadline Day because he wanted to join Bayern; then his preference was to stay at Chelsea despite £25m deal agreed between clubs. He’ll fight for his place but sources expect Chalobah to leave the club in January.”
