Mauricio Pochettino wants to sign four more players before deadline day

Chelsea still needs that other midfielder in there to create a partnership.

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino ‘wants’ to add more players before the end of summer transfer window. Chelsea have figured out four players to consider.

The Blues have seen major departures this summer such as Kai Havertz, Mason Mount and Mateo Kovacic who moved to their rivals clubs. Meanwhile, the West London club also invested in new signings like Christopher Nkunku, Axel Disasi, and Nicolas Jackson.

Leeds United’s Tyler Adams and Brighton’s Moises Caicedo are their primary targets. Chelsea have offered £80m for Caicedo who is valued at around £100m by Brighton. Seagulls have rejected their bid.

Blues are now closer to finalising a deal for Leeds midfielder Tyler Adams, who could cost just £20m as there is a relegation release clause in his contract.

As per the Daily Mail, the Argentine ‘wants’ four more signings with Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise and Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic also featuring on the transfer wishlist.

Former Premier League attacker Gabby Agbonlahor thinks Chelsea will struggle to qualify for the Champions League if they do not sign an A-list midfielder. So, Blues need to update their squad before the deadline day.

“Caicedo and Fernandez will probably be closer to one of the best midfield partnerships in the world. So Chelsea still need that other midfielder in there to create a partnership,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider.

“They have Enzo Fernandez who you know needs partnership with a big player in the middle.
