Chelsea are interested in signing Matthijs de Ligt this summer.

The Blues are in need of some defensive reinforcements in the summer with Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen both leaving Stamford Bridge.

Both Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta are also expected to leave the club in the coming weeks.

Chelsea are in need of some serious defensive recruitments and has been linked with a host of defenders this summer.

One such player is Matthijs de Ligt who’s contract with the Old Lady expires in the summer of 2024.

Although Juventus hero Giorgio Chiellini left this summer, they might be unwilling to let go De Ligt in the same window.

Earlier Matthijs de Ligt didn’t rule out leaving Juventus when he was asked about his future.

“Negotiations are ongoing at the moment and when the time comes I will decide whether to extend or look elsewhere,” De Ligt said in an interview with NOS.

“I always look at what is best for me in terms of the sporting project.

“Two consecutive fourth place finishes are not enough, we have to make progress in that direction because these are disappointing results. Juventus are a club that always wants and must become champions.”
