Raheem Sterling is yet to replicate the consistent form he produced for Man City.
The English winger completed his £47.5 million move to Chelsea in the summer of 2022.
He hit 131 goals for City through 339 appearances but scored only nine times for Chelsea in the 2022/23 campaign.
At the age of 28, Sterling is one of the very few experienced players in the current Chelsea squad.
Mauricio Pochettino will undoubtedly demand a lot more from Sterling and started the season reasonably well.
Pundit Dean Jones believes Pochettino can be the man to revive Sterling’s career at Chelsea.
He said: “It was certainly a good performance from Sterling. You’d like to think, if anyone could rejuvenate him, it would be Pochettino. He wants to be the guy that makes a change.
“He is one of the most experienced players in the squad now. One of the oldest players in the squad now. So, I think that he should be looking to turn his squad status into something that matters significantly.
“If it doesn’t work out for him in the next few months, then I think we genuinely will be looking at a situation where Chelsea will be looking to offload him in the new year.”
