Mauricio Pochettino sack talk continues as Chelsea wants to bring Roberto De Zerbi

Mauricio Pochettino’s future at Chelsea in doubt as sack talk intensifies

Mauricio Pochettino’s future at Chelsea remains an area of speculation, with reports stating that the Argentine manager is on the verge of sacking. With flashes of brilliance, like as the dramatic win over Manchester United, Pochettino has failed to deliver the consistency and success that the Blues’ hierarchy expected.

Todd Boehly, Chelsea’s co-owner, appears to be ready to make a managerial change, with Roberto De Zerbi emerging as the most likely choice to replace Pochettino.

De Zerbi, who is now in charge at Brighton, is said to be open to the idea of taking on a new task, with Chelsea being considered an enticing another option.

However, Chelsea faces significant rivalry from Bayern Munich, who are also interested in signing De Zerbi following Julian Nagelsmann’s contract renewal with the German national team. The likely appointment of De Zerbi would be similar to Chelsea’s previous raid on Brighton for Graham Potter, but with the hope of a better conclusion this time.

As Pochettino’s grip on his job weakens, Chelsea finds itself at a turning point, with quick decisions required. The recent FA Cup defeat to Manchester City adds to Pochettino’s pressure, as Chelsea’s chances of winning silverware fade.

With their sights set on a new era under De Zerbi, Chelsea must carefully weigh their options and decide whether to stick with Pochettino or opt for a fresh start.

As the managerial merry-go-round gathers pace, Chelsea’s future hangs in the balance, with the appointment of De Zerbi potentially signaling a new chapter in the club’s history.

Chelsea fans to discover Thiago Silva’s fate at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea fans to discover Thiago Silva's fate at Stamford Bridge

Thiago Silva was pretty emotional after the loss in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday.

Chelsea are planning to leave Thiago Silva at the end of the season and his future will be decided this summer. The Blues fans will soon discover his fate at Stamford Bridge.

The Brazilian has made his decision that he will stay or not. Silva joined the Blues from PSG on a free transfer in 2020 and was a vital member of the side that won the Champions League in 2021. He has also won the Club World Cup with Chelsea.

Silva has been one of the finest defenders and his leadership qualities helped Chelsea a lot. He was pretty emotional after the loss in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday.

FA Cup was his final opportunity to win the silverware for Chelsea. His contract will expire in June. Ahead of the match, Silva’s wife shared pictures of herself and her family preparing to watch from the Wembley stands on her Instagram story.

In one post, holding a Chelsea scarf with Silva’s name, she wrote: “It’s the last dance at Wembley.”

Silva also replied when he was asked about his departure (via The Standard): “You’ll find out in the next few days. I’d rather not comment now, especially after a loss.

“I’m sad about the result, but sooner or later, the news will come out. I do have a decision made in my mind, but it’s not the moment to share it.

“My four years here were very good. Not that I didn’t believe in myself, but with my age and the intensity of this league…it’s rare to see players in a high level at 39.

“I don’t like to talk about myself, but you can see this. Today, I was ready to play the extra time. I can see I have some years in me to keep enjoying football.”

Pochettino’s side suffered an exit from the FA Cup against Man City.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has suggested that his squad need negative experiences to be able to progress as a team in the future.

The Argentine saw a heartbreak last night when they were beaten by Manchester City in the FA Cup semifinal. It was a close game and Chelsea fought hard.

Chelsea had chances but they didn’t convert it. Bernardo Silva scored the decisive strike six minutes from time. It also ended Chelsea’s chances to win the domestic cup this season.

Pochettino spoke to reporters, as quoted by football.london: “In football, the most important thing is to be clinical and to not concede. We competed well, I cannot say we were the better side because that in football is difficult to measure.

“The most important thing is we competed. Competing in this way, we need to take positives from the game. This type of group of players needs this type of moments in games.

“Now it’s about to take the positive things and try to build in the things that we need, the areas we need to improve. Now is the time to finish the season in the best way and then to speak about how we can be better next season.”

Pochettino insisted the Argentine is the best person to handle Palmer’s rise.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino wants Chelsea to trust him to handle Cole Palmer’s rising stardom. He has managed players like Harry Kane at Tottenham. He has helped them handle the pressures of becoming a hugely famous and full international player.

Palmer has been outstanding in his role, scoring 20 Premier League goals and 25 across all competitions since joining Chelsea from Manchester City.

Chelsea and Man City will meet in the semifinals of the FA Cup. Ahead of the game, Pochettino insisted the Argentine is the best person to handle Palmer’s rise.

Chelsea boss said, “He needs to deal with new things. It is not a criticism. It is about saying that they will appear – different things which he will need to deal with and manage and of course, he needs to know how to deal and learn how to deal with this new situation.”

“That is part of our job, as a coaching staff. That is the important thing. We need to help his environment. Him, but his environment also to understand how to deal.

“We have the experience as a coaching staff to deal with things like this. Also the club needs to trust in our judgement and assessment. The clubs need to trust. If they do not trust in us, it is difficult to work.”

Cole Palmer scored four goals in the previous game against Everton and the talented star would be a great asset for Chelsea to secure the place in another domestic cup final this season.

Pochettino added on Palmner, “It’s difficult to say a guy that has scored 25 goals in the season. It’s difficult to say, ‘oh you need to run more’, because he’s doing perfectly his job in an offensive situation.”

“But it’s true we are a coaching staff that we always demand more. ‘Yes you score, but you need to work. Yes you score, but you need to run when we don’t have the ball’. But he’s doing well.”

Chelsea leading race to sign Amadou Onana for £60m this Summer

Emerging reports suggest Blues primed for strategic move in transfer market

Chelsea emerges as the frontrunners in the pursuit of midfield talent Amadou Onana, with reports swirling that the Blues are gearing up to make a decisive move in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Spanish outlet Sport indicates that Chelsea is strategically positioned to table an offer for the coveted midfielder, despite his current club demanding a hefty £60 million for his services.

The West London outfit, eyeing reinforcements to bolster their midfield ranks, has set their sights firmly on Onana, who recently showcased his skills at Stamford Bridge as part of the Everton squad.

Despite Everton’s lackluster performance against Chelsea, with their midfield outshone by the likes of Conor Gallagher and Moises Caicedo, Chelsea remains undeterred in their pursuit of the Belgian international.

Chelsea’s interest in Onana underscores their proactive approach to fortifying their squad ahead of the upcoming season. With potential outgoings from their midfield contingent, including the possibility of Gallagher’s departure, Chelsea is primed to make strategic moves to ensure a balance in their squad composition while aiming to enhance their midfield options.

While Gallagher has proven to be a valuable asset for manager Mauricio Pochettino this season, his potential departure could serve as a means to generate profits for Chelsea.

Nonetheless, his departure would undoubtedly raise questions regarding the club’s commitment to supporting the Argentine manager.

As Chelsea positions itself at the forefront of the race for Onana’s signature, all eyes are on the club’s transfer activity in the coming months, with fans eagerly anticipating further developments in their pursuit of strengthening the squad for future challenges.

Ian Maatsen tells Chelsea he wants to join BVB on a permanent deal

Ian Maatsen informs Chelsea of desire to join Borussia Dortmund permanently

Ian Maatsen’s intends is quite clear: he wants to make his temporary stay in Germany permanent. The Chelsea left-back, who is currently on loan at Borussia Dortmund, has reportedly informed his parent club that he wants to join the Bundesliga giants on a permanent basis during the summer transfer window.

‘I always believed [I could] play for Chelsea but unfortunately for some reason it didn’t work out how it should’ve,’ Maatsen told CBS Sports this week.

‘Now I’m here I’m very grateful for the opportunity. I can say I’m very proud of myself.

‘I kept believing in myself and came here to experience playing my game at the highest level, playing my game. Today I think I showed a very good performance. I’m very happy.’

Maatsen’s decision follows his breakout performance, in which he scored his first Champions League goal, securing Dortmund’s prized semi-final spot. The Dutchman’s successful stint with the German club has clearly influenced his decision, with sources indicating a release clause of €35-40 million

This revelation marks a significant shift from Maatsen’s initial aspirations of cementing his place in the Chelsea squad. Despite his earlier ambitions, the prospect of regular first-team football at Dortmund seems to have lured him away from Stamford Bridge.

Having excelled during his loan spell at Burnley last season, Maatsen’s stock has soared, prompting interest from various quarters.

Chelsea, who had previously entertained offers for the talented full-back, may now face the prospect of bidding farewell to a promising prospect, should negotiations with Dortmund materialize.
