Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling rejects big offer from Saudi Pro League

Chelsea considering selling Raheem Sterling, eyeing Nico Williams as replacement

Chelsea Football Club is considering a major shake-up ahead of the summer transfer window, with reports emerging that they are ready to part ways with Raheem Sterling and replace him with Athletic Bilbao’s rising star, Nico Williams.

Sources close to Stamford Bridge suggest that senior figures within the club are divided on Sterling’s future, with some advocating for his departure despite his high-profile arrival just two years ago.

The England winger, who made a headline-grabbing switch from Manchester City, has failed to live up to expectations, managing only 17 goals in 71 appearances since his arrival.

With Mauricio Pochettino struggling to find consistency in his debut season as Chelsea’s manager, the club is keen to revamp their squad for a stronger campaign ahead.

According to transfer expert Dean Jones, there is a faction within the Chelsea boardroom who would welcome Sterling’s departure during the upcoming transfer window.

In preparation for a potential exit, Chelsea has reportedly turned their attention to Nico Williams, a talented wide man currently plying his trade at Athletic Bilbao.

The 21-year-old has caught the eye with his impressive performances in La Liga, contributing to 10 goals in 22 appearances this season, along with seven goals in five Copa del Rey matches.

While some members of the Chelsea hierarchy remain convinced of Sterling’s potential, the club is said to be actively scouting Williams as a potential replacement.

With a reported £43 million release clause in his contract, Williams could offer Chelsea a fresh attacking dynamic as they look to bolster their squad for the challenges ahead.
