Chelsea players are confused with how Tammy Abraham has fared under Thomas Tuchel.
According to Metro, the Blues dressing room has been left confused by how Tuchel has treated Abraham.
Frank Lampard handed him an opportunity to impress last season. Abraham took his chances and ended the campaign with 15 goals. But in 2020/21, he has fallen down the pecking order very quickly.
Even with neither Timo Werner or Kai Havertz displaying any proper form, Abraham continues to get ousted under Thomas Tuchel. He was left out of Chelsea’s 5-2 defeat to West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.
Tuchel did provide an explanation for exclusion of players but overall, Abraham can justifiably feel disappointed. He is still only 23 years old with a contract until June 2023. He has a decent outlay of 12 goals and 6 assists in 30 appearances this term.
Despite being ruled fit, he continues to see his name dropped from matchday squads at Stamford Bridge. How long can this persist? Plenty of clubs across Europe including Leicester City are interested in him.
Chelsea are well known to either sell or loan out their academy graduates to make profits. Perhaps, that is what is in store for Abraham as well. The Blues are also actively looking to sign Sergio Aguero this summer which would only further damage Abraham’s Chelsea future.
