Chelsea has been told to replace Kai Havertz

Chelsea has been urged to sign Aleksandar Mitrovic this summer.

Former Chelsea forward Tony Cascarino has been asked to replace Kai Havertz with Mitrovic after the German went another game without a goal.

Havertz was unable to find the back of the net against Fulham and also missed a chance to score from a close range.

Even though he is Chelsea’s join top-scorer with Raheem Sterling this season, the German forward is not the right player to lead the Chelsea attacking line.

This is according to Cascarino who believes Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic is the answer to Chelsea’s problem up front.

He told talkSPORT: “I’m sure we’ll talk about Havertz in this conversation because Havertz doesn’t lead the line. All the things I got taught as a centre forward, and all the centre forwards I know, he doesn’t do a number of things very well. And Graham Potter doesn’t recognise that.”

“Even the way he [Mitrovic] plays, he holds up the ball. Just exactly what Chelsea need at the moment up front. Someone to bring that ball in, hold it up and lay it off, get in the box, get on crosses.”
