Chelsea captain Reece James return to some level of training ahead of Arsenal game

Reece James was limited to only 16 Premier League appearances last season due to injuries.

Chelsea will take on Arsenal in an important Premier League tie this weekend. Chelsea skipper Reece James appears to have returned to some level of training ahead of the London derby on Saturday.

The 23-year-old has only made one appearance since being appointed the new Chelsea skipper this season. James has missed the last nine games across all competitions with a hamstring injury.

Reece James also served a suspension for directing abusive language towards a match official during a confrontation in the tunnel following Chelsea’s fixture against Aston Villa last month.

Meanwhile, Chelsea shared on social media a picture of the player in training gear, smiling, with the caption: “Out on the grass.”

James himself also shared a version of the same picture alongside the message: “Against all odds.”

The 23-year-old has struggled with injuries in recent years. He was limited to only 16 Premier League appearances last season due to knee and hamstring problems.
