Thomas Tuchel has been sent a sack warning.
The German coach has enjoyed a superb first season with Chelsea winning the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and making it to the final of the FA Cup.
The 2021/22 season started very strongly for Tuchel’s side but they have fallen away in the past two months and are now ten points behind league-leaders Manchester City.
Former Chelsea player Glen Johnson believes it won’t be a surprise if Tuchel is sacked before the start of next season.
‘I’d like to think Tuchel will still be at the club next season, but it’s the hottest seat in world football,’ Johnson told BettingOdds.com.
‘I don’t think it’d surprise anybody if he wasn’t at Chelsea but I think it would be absolute madness for them to sack him.
‘I think what he’s done in such a short period of time, and I think they are improving, if they keep him another season I think they’d be doing the right thing.
‘I can’t imagine someone will walk in and pick up from where he’s left off and improve them immediately. I think it would be a mistake if he was to come under pressure.’
