OFFICIAL: Marc Guehi Leaves Chelsea For Crystal Palace On 5-Year Deal

Mauricio Pochettino is allegedly leading Chelsea’s January transfer plan in an attempt to get Marc Guehi, a defensive stalwart for Crystal Palace.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Pochettino’s need for a player with Premier League experience may lead to the Blues making a massive £75 million approach for the former graduate of Chelsea’s academy.

“Plenty of clubs are looking. There’s nothing advanced at Chelsea’s end yet, and there may be a bit of a difference of opinion between the profile in this position that Pochettino wants (for the ‘now’) and the recruitment team are trying for (depth, or for the ‘future’).

“I would imagine during December there will be some healthy internal debate.”

He said: “Keep in mind Mauricio Pochettino would ideally like a bit of proven Premier League quality,

“That’s why I would keep an eye on Chelsea entering the race for a player like Marc Guehi, who they sold to Crystal Palace in 2021.

Pochettino has obviously taken notice of Guehi’s rapid rise to the top of the league and his present position as captain of Crystal Palace.

Any possible trade is anticipated to come with a high price tag, although prior rumours that Chelsea had first hand rights on the player.

Due to injuries, the Blues are apparently searching for a dependable center-back, and Guehi appears to be a good fit.

All eyes are on whether the England international will return successfully to the club where he developed his abilities as a young star as the transfer window approaches.
