Luis Enrique was a candidate to return to management in recent weeks

After being strongly connected with the job at Chelsea, who had just fired Graham Potter due to a poor domestic run of results.

Lucho allegedly discussed taking over with Chelsea officials, but they chose to install Frank Lampard on an interim basis with the intention of choosing a permanent manager in the summer.

Enrique is anticipated to be in the running once more over the coming weeks, and Sport is saying that, should he be offered the role by Chelsea, he has already begun making plans for hiring this summer.

Enrique is apparently interested in recruiting Rodrygo from Real Madrid if he becomes the manager of the Premier League team. Under Carlo Ancelotti, the Brazilian has developed into a key player and established himself as the first option on the right wing.

Rodrygo is valued by Real Madrid as a component of their long-term project, hence they are unlikely to be eager to sell. The opening leg of Los Blancos’ Champions League quarterfinal match against Chelsea comes on Wednesday, and the 22-year-old is also anticipated to start.
