Callum Hudson-Odoi has joined Bayer Leverkusen on a one-year loan.

The England international had a bright start to his life in Germany and made an assist in his debut game.

He fell down the pecking order under former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel and hence joined the Bundesliga side this summer to reignite his career.

New manager Graham Potter has an option to recall the winger in January who has been a target during Potter’s spell at Brighton.

Hudson-Odoi told Sky Sports: “Coming out here, the aim was just to get as many games as possible and build on the fitness I haven’t really had in the last couple of seasons for Chelsea.

“I’ve been playing a lot out here and I’m really enjoying it. You want to be helping the team as much as possible, scoring goals and assisting goals and just being influential in the team.

“I’m definitely enjoying my football at the moment. I think it was the right time in my career to come here.”
