Chelsea set to rekindle their interest in PSG forward Neymar in the summer transfer window

Neymar is currently sidelined after picking up a season-ending ankle injury in February.

Neymar is the fresh name in Chelsea’s wishlist for the summer. The club is reportedly set to replan their interest in Paris Saint-Germain forward in the summer transfer window.

Neymar has spent the last six years in Paris after completing a world-record £198m move from Barcelona in 2017.

The Brazilian has netted 118 goals and provided 77 assists in 173 appearances across all competitions.

Neymar’s contract will expire in June 2025 with an option for a further year, but there is speculation that PSG could look to sell him this summer.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is adopting a new transfer strategy. The change in approach has brought the futures of Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, and Neymar into question ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Neymar has struggled with injuries this season. According to The Mirror, Chelsea could revive their interest in the 31-year-old after enquiring about his availability earlier this year.

Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly allegedly held a meeting with the PSG president in February to discuss a potential transfer.
