Victor Osimhen could sign a new deal with Napoli this January.

The 24-year-old Nigerian striker has been in spectacular form this season scoring six goals in nine Serie A appearances.

He netted 26 goals in Serie A last season and helped Napoli win the league title after a three-decade-long wait.

His contract with Napoli expires in the summer of 2025 and his stellar performance has caught the attention of several top European clubs.

Real Madrid and Arsenal are two other clubs who have also been linked with a move for the Nigerian forward.

Napoli are currently eight points behind league leaders Inter Milan, so there’s a chance that Osimhen can entertain a fresh challenge in the Premier League.

Chelsea have been linked with the forward over the past few months and having Osimhen in their roster could make the difference in their run for Champions League qualification.

But Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has claimed that Osimhen is expected to pen a new contract very soon.

He said: “With Osimhen, we are about to sign the contract that was pending this summer.”

Chelsea does want to bring in an elite striker in 2024 and Osimhen is one of the players on their shortlist.
