Chelsea considering possibility of bringing Mike Maignan back as a long-term goalkeeper option

Bayern Munich are also pushing to sign this goalkeeper.

As per the fresh reports of Football.London, Chelsea are planning to sign a new goalkeeper for the long-term. They are considering the possibility of signing Mike Maignan in 2024.

Chelsea showed interest in him during the summer but his price tag was deemed too high. He is leading them to opt for the more affordable goalkeeping pair of Djorde Petrovic and Robert Sanchez instead.

Chelsea and Bayern Munich are also giving the tough task to Maignan. The player’s potential acquisition could come at a cost of up to £80 million.

Mike Maignan had a decent outing for AC Milan. He kept clean sheets in over half of his appearances. He also kept a clean sheet in both of his appearances for France’s national team.

The Rossoneri have conceded seven goals in six Serie A matches so far, but Maignan has made some important saves to keep Milan in games.

His contract with AC Milan will end in the summer of 2026. it won’t be easy for Chelsea to bring him to Stamford Bridge next summer.
