Midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek of Chelsea and England has piqued AC Milan’s interest once more

The Serie A heavyweights, who approved Sandro Tonali’s transfer to Newcastle United, are searching for midfield reinforcements as they want to improve on their Champions League semifinal appearance from the previous year.

Davide Frattesi of Sassuolo is a player Stefano Pioli’s team has been attempting to sign, but they are up against fierce competition from Inter, who are also interested in him because they want to replace Marcelo Brozovic, who is wanted by both Barcelona and the Saudi Pro League. Milan had begun negotiations with Chelsea over a deal for Loftus-Cheek in May, but the move for the 27-year-old stalled after the Rossoneri fired technical director Paolo Maldini and sports director Ricky Massara from their positions.

According to 90min, Milan and Chelsea have resumed their negotiations after chatting over the weekend to determine how to move forward. They also addressed the availability of Conor Gallagher, Christian Pulisic, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Loftus-Cheek has been valued at over £20 million by Chelsea, although Milan are reportedly trying to get him for a little over £17 million.

Loftus-Cheek’s contract with Chelsea expires in just 12 months, and Chelsea has already informed him that he can find work elsewhere. After conversing with his close buddy Fikayo Tomori, 90min is aware of his interest in going to San Siro. He is also thought to believe that a move to Serie A could be the best place for him to launch his career.

If Loftus-Cheek leaves Chelsea this summer, he will be one of many players leaving as the team gets ready to start a new chapter under new manager Mauricio Pochettino. Edouard Mendy and Hakim Ziyech are also travelling to Saudi Arabia to join Al Ahli and Al Nassr, while N’Golo Kante and Kalidou Koulibaly have already gone to join Al Ittihad and Al Hilal. Although they are both leaving Chelsea, Kai Havertz and Mateo Kovacic are staying in England and joining Arsenal and Manchester City, respectively.
