The 28-year-old pulled off a victory from the game where Chelsea were almost sharing the spoils.

While speaking to the club’s website, Christensen said of the Moroccan: “He deserves it. he works hard.

“I felt a little bit for him when the first goal got taken away, and you wonder if it’s going to happen, but he deserves it.

“He’s very important for us especially when he scores our goals.”

Chelsea are now 7 points behind Liverpool after 25 games. They might not finish at the top two but they can be confident of a top-four finish.

Ziyech has scored four goals so far in the current Premier League season. He also has one goal in the Champions League.
