The Nigerian forward has been the subject of interest for Chelsea over the past two transfer windows but the club never made an official bid for the 24-year-old.
The Napoli striker was influential in the club’s three-decade-long wait for the Serie A title last season and netted 26 goals in the process.
But this season, Napoli are eight points behind league leaders Inter Milan, so Osimhen may seek a new challenge elsewhere.
His contract with the Serie A club expires in 2025 and the board is keen to tie him to a new contract.
Journalist Dean Jones claims that the Nigerian forward would be open to joining Chelsea but it doesn’t appear Chelsea would go for him.
Dean Jones said: “I think he would be keen on going to Chelsea. I do think that there is something in the stories that he might choose Chelsea. I do believe that.”
“Will Chelsea go and sign him is the big question. A month ago, there were strong signs that Chelsea would go aggressive again in the market and try to sign a striker. But I think a lot will have to do with how Christopher Nkunku comes into this team now.”
