Thomas Tuchel has had an extensive meeting with PSG central defender Presnel Kimpembe to persuade him to come to Stamford Bridge.
The centre-back was a key man when Tuchel was the manager in Paris. Tuchel desperately needs a defender to boost his defence ahead of 2022/23.
Tuchel can offer him a guaranteed starting spot and plenty of chances to win trophies. We assume the money on the table will be excellent too.
According to FootMercato, there was a phone call between the two with extensive detail on how the 26-year-old would work in his system at Stamford Bridge.
Their piece mentions Juventus as potentially interested – presumably, that’s if Matthijs de Ligt goes to Bayern Munich, as expected, but other than that we seem like by far the leading candidate for a move for the France international.
