Former Chelsea Manager To Return To Management?

Antonio Conte has insisted he doesn’t have any intention to manage AS Roma next season.

The former Chelsea manager is currently without a job having fired by the Blues in the last summer. Maurizio Sarri replaced him at the Stamford Bridge and the West London side are on the brink of a place in the Europa League final.

Conte has been linked with a return to management at AS Roma. The Italian club is struggling to keep pace in the Serie-A and also crashed out of the Champions League after a humiliating defeat at the hands of Porto.

Conte had been expected to be given the charge but the former Juventus manager has rejected all advances. “I have a problem – winning.

“It is the goal of my work. The way there involves work, sacrifice, a unity of purpose, of thinking about us and not about me. I don’t know any other way.

“Today, the conditions are not there. I need to have the perception that I can beat anyone, I need to feel that winning is possible. Otherwise, I will happily stay where I am.”

“I fell in love with Rome when I frequented it during my two years as national team coach.

“At the (Stadio) Olimpico, I feel the passion of the public who live their football with a special intensity.”
