Tiemoue Bakayoko has been loaned out of Chelsea yet again.

This time the player has joined Napoli for another season of Italian football. With Bakayoko unlikely to feature again in a Chelsea shirt, the player was left with few choices as no other club wanted him either.

However, Napoli came in for him last moment and the French midfielder has tried to explain that he wanted such a transfer all along.

“I’m very happy to be here, the team has welcomed me in an amazing way,” Bakayoko said at a press conference. “I’m very happy with my teammates, I’m happy with my new home here.

“Gattuso convinced me and I’m very happy to join a great team. I also want to thank Gattuso for letting me come here.

He continued: “We will obviously fight to be up there. It’s not time to talk about the Scudetto, our target is to take one game at a time and try to fight for three points.

“I really want to play, since I haven’t been on the pitch for several months. I’m giving it my all, on Saturday I would like to be on the pitch, but it depends on the coach.

Atalanta are a team that play very well and are quick.”
