Thomas Tuchel gives an injury update ahead of Lille clash

Cesar Azpilicueta and Mason Mount could be available for Lille clash.

The duo missed Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday due to injuries but are expected to be available for Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Lille.

Reece James has been out with his hamstring injury and is still not ready to train fully.

Callum Hudson-Odoi will also be unavailable for the midweek clash against Lille.

Both Azpilicueta and Mount have returned to full team training and could play a part in the round-of-16 tie against Lille.

“Azpi looks much better than Callum,” Tuchel explained.

“Callum did not train yesterday. Azpi trained and has had no reaction, so if it stays like this then he’s available for tomorrow.

“Mason did a very good individual session. I think he will try to come back to team training today.

“He has been out a little bit too long to start the game but perhaps he is involved in the squad.”
